The Type Nine appeared on Voyager and appears to be a fairly
small but very sleek and fast shuttle for short to medium interstellar
trips. It's armed with phaser arrays on the pylons, and apparently has
an array or emitter on the nose as seen in Future's End Part 2. The main
thrust of this entry is to explain why Voyager seems to carry about fifty
of these things; the creators are on record as saying that Voyager can
Replicate/manufacture replacements somehow, so I went with that.
